Never lose your place

Lyrics move with the song. Your line stays centered.

  • Timestamps if you want them

Lyrics come from LRCLIB with a NetEase fallback — not every track has them.

// under the hood

Built to be left running

// local-first

Playback stays on your machine

The Windows beta reads playback locally. Song metadata goes to LRCLIB and the NetEase fallback for lyrics; GitHub supplies application updates.

  • No Spotify login or developer registration
  • No added runtime to install
  • Lyrics cached on your own disk
// fast by design

Still when nothing is happening

One timer follows lyric boundaries. Playback reads back off when idle, and the animated thumbnail rests while paused.

  • One timer per lyric boundary
  • Polling backs off when you idle
  • Recovers itself after a crash
// what it is

A lyrics overlay. That is the whole product.

Linea is a free, open-source desktop app for Windows. Play a song in Spotify or another compatible player; Linea reads the local media session, finds synced lyrics, and floats the current line above everything else you have open.

No Spotify login. No developer account. No extra runtime. Lyrics come from LRCLIB, with NetEase as a fallback, and stay cached on your machine. This is Project Linea, the overlay — not the Linea blockchain. FAQ
